But Envy is - பொறாமையோ!

" சொஸ்தமனம் உடலுக்கு ஜீவன்; பொறாமையோ எலும்புருக்கி" (நீதி. 14:30).

பொறாமை எலும்புருக்கி என்றும் (நீதி. 14:30), அது புத்தி இல்லாதவனை அதம் பண்ணும் என்றும் (யோபு 5:2) வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது. ஆகவே பொறாமைக்கு உங்களை விலக்கிக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

கொரியா தேசத்தில் பல சபைகள் உருவாகியிருக்கின்றன. அவைகள் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று பொறாமை கொண்டு போட்டி போடுகிறதாயிருக்கிறது. ஒரு சபை உபவாச மலை ஊழியம் ஆரம்பித்தால் எல்லா சபைகளும் உபவாச மலை ஊழியத்தை ஆரம்பிக்க போட்டிபோட்டுக் கொண்டு முயற்சிக்கின்றன. ஒரு சபையின் கட்டிடம் பெரிதாய் இருக்கிறதைப் பார்த்து, மற்ற சபைகள் அதைவிட பெரிய ஆலயமாக கட்ட முயற்சித்து தீராத பண நெருக்கடியில் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள். பொறாமையினால் ஒரு சபை விசுவாசிகளை மற்ற சபை விசுவாசிகள் தூற்றுகிறார்கள். இதனால் பல கருத்து வேறுபாடுகள் வருகின்றன.

சிலர் "இது நல்லதுதானே! ஆரோக்கியமான போட்டிதானே!" என்று வாதிடக் கூடும். ஆனால் இது உண்மையில் பார்க்கப்போனால் ஆபத்தானது. ஊழியர்களும், திருச்சபைகளும் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் கைகோர்த்து, தோளோடு தோள் நின்று ஒருமனமாய் சுவிசேஷத்தை அறிவிக்க வேண்டுமே தவிர, பொறாமை கொண்டு போட்டி போடக்கூடாது.

வேதத்தில் முதன்முதலில் பொறாமைகொண்டு போட்டி போட்டவன் சாத்தான்தான். அவன் கர்த்தரோடு போட்டி போட்டான். "நான் வானத்துக்கு ஏறுவேன், தேவனுடைய நட்சத்திரங்களுக்கு மேலாக என் சிங்காசனத்தை உயர்த்துவேன்; வடபுறங்களிலுள்ள ஆராதனைக் கூட்டத்தின் பர்வதத்திலே வீற்றிருப்பேன். நான் மேகங்களுக்கு மேலாக உன்னதங்களில் ஏறுவேன்; உன்னதமானவருக்கு ஒப்பாவேன்" (ஏசா. 14:13,14) என்று சொன்னான். இதன் விளைவாக அவன் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து கீழே தள்ளப்பட்டான். அதல பாதாளத்தில் விழுந்து போனான்.

இரண்டாவது, பொறாமைக்கு தன்னை விற்றுப்போட்டவன் காயீன்தான் (ஆதி. 4:8). அவனுடைய காணிக்கை அங்கீகரிக்கப்படாமல் ஆபேலினுடைய காணிக்கை அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டதினால் பொறாமை வந்தது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து எரிச்சலும், கொலை வெறியும் வந்தன. கடைசியில் சொந்த சகோதரனையே கொலை செய்து விட்டான்.

பொறாமைக்கு இடங்கொடுக்காதேயுங்கள். கர்த்தர் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் ஒவ்வொரு சூழ்நிலையில் ஒவ்வொரு விதமாக வைத்திருப்பார். ஆகவே செல்வந்தர்களைப் பார்த்தோ, புகழ் பெற்றவர்களைப் பார்த்தோ அல்லது உங்களுக்கு மேலாய் ஊழியம் செய்கிறவர்களைப் பார்த்தோ பொறாமைப்படாதேயுங்கள். பொறாமை எலும்புருக்கி, இதன் விளைவு ஒருவனுடைய சொந்த எலும்புதான் உருகும் என்பதை மறந்து போவிடாதேயுங்கள்.

அநேகம்பேர் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளிடம், பக்கத்து வீட்டு குழந்தை எவ்வளவு நன்றாய் சாப்பிடுகிறது, எதிர் வீட்டு பிள்ளை எவ்வளவு நன்றாய் படிக்கிறது, நீ படிக்க வேண்டாமா என்று மற்ற பிள்ளைகளோடு ஒப்பிட்டு, பிள்ளைகளின் உள்ளத்தில் பொறாமையை விதைத்து விடுவார்கள். தேவபிள்ளைகளே, உங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகள் மற்ற பிள்ளைகளோடு போட்டி போட்டு பொறாமைகொண்டு முன்னேற ஊக்கப்படுத்தாதிருங்கள். அது பிள்ளைகளின் எதிர்காலத்தை மிகவும் பாதித்து விடும்.

நினைவிற்கு:- "பொல்லாதவர்களைக் குறித்து எரிச்சலடையாதே; நியாயக்கேடு செய்கிறவர்கள்மேல் பொறாமைகொள்ளாதே" (சங். 37:1).

“ A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones” (Proverbs 14:30).

The Scripture says that envy is rottenness to the bones (Proverbs 14:30), and it kills a foolish man and envy slays a simple one (Job 5:2). So, protect yourself by keeping away from envy.

Many churches have come up in Korea. They envy each other, suppress and try to grow. If one church commences the ‘fasting hill prayer’, all other churches also commence the same in their churches and compete with each other. If one church building appears big, all others also try to make their churches to look even bigger and subsequently are caught in a financial crisis. The believers of one church abuse the believers belonging to other churches out of jealousy. Thus, several differences of opinion arise.

Some people may argue that they are healthy competitions and such trends may help the churches to grow. But the fact is that it is dangerous. It is the responsibility of the churches and the servants of God to join hands and proclaim the Gospel with oneness and they should not compete with envy.

According to the Scripture, satan is the first to compete with envy. He is the one to compete with God. He said, “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:13, 14). Because of this he was pushed from heaven and was lodged in the hade.

The second person to sell himself for jealousy is Cain (Genesis 4:8). He became envious over Abel, whose offertory was accepted by God and the offertory of Cain was declined. Following jealousy, frustration and murdering fury came upon him. In the end he murdered his own brother.

Do not ever give room to jealousy. God places each person at different levels in different situations. So, do not feel jealousy over the rich people, persons with fame and those representing bigger ministries. Do not forget that the envy is rottenness to the bones and it would squander your own bones.

Many people scold their children comparing them with the children in the neighbourhood regarding their eating and learning habits. Thus, they sow the seed of envy in their hearts. Dear children of God, never encourage your children to compete with others with envy. This will greatly affect their future.

To meditate: “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity” (Psalm 37:1).
